Notes on this Model

• Most often, I begin a project by developping an idea (usually several). I then plan a photo session with my wife were she will try various poses with different clothes and colors. I then work from the photos, sometime taking ideas from more then one in order to capture the emotion I had planed to put on paper.
• Sometimes however, my wife will just stand or sit in a pose naturally without any preparation. I sketch her while she barely notices me. I sometimes use these sketches for pen & ink or even oil paintings.
• I have been drawing my wife since I meet her about 6 years ago. I love sketching and drawing her. Before I asked, she had never posed for anyone. This allied with her personnality enables her to always project a "fresh" look which is quite appealing to me. The fact that I can ask her to pose for me or I can sketch her live makes for more diverse art.
